ICT

Our dedicated IT suite houses PC workstations for all children. Pupils also use iPads across the curriculum. Prep children experience a variety of different aspects of IT and computing with elements of programming covered using Scratch and Logo. The essential skills of using the Microsoft Office suite and touch-typing are also covered using the excellent English-Type software. Children gain knowledge of digital media; giving them a diverse range of skills and a broad base of experience upon which to build at their senior schools. Being safe online is covered regularly in class and via external speakers and as you would expect, the school has a robust filtering system in place.

The ICT Department aims to:

• Teach touch-typing and encourage pupils to practise at home
• Give a good grounding in the use of the Microsoft Office SuitePE
• Ensure safety online and encourage good habits in terms of social media
