WELCOME TO Dorset House School
"...this is a school that really does empower"
(Tatler Schools Guide)

Welcome
At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.
Prospective parents often comment on the warmth of this school and if that is something which is important to your family, please call to make an appointment to visit us. We look forward to meeting you.

Now that Year 8 have returned from their trip to @skernlodgeltd , they have embarked on a wonderful post-exam programme - devised by Mr Weaver.
Yesterday morning, they listened to speakers from local homeless charity, Turning Tides and the Police and in the afternoon, enjoyed the `Great DH Bake Off.`
Mme Green, Ms Hutchings and Dr Wintle gave very positive feedback and Dr W gave the famous Paul Hollywood handshake!
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that, in true `DH` style, there is a dog in the picture... (Don`t worry, she didn`t eat any cake!)

DH athletes punched well above their weight at the Sussex Prep Schools` Junior Athletics Event at @hurst_college yesterday, winning an amazing 7 gold medals!
From Year 4, Fausto was crowned the Victor Ludorum, having won the Discus with a record throw of 19.38m and the 200m. Edie (also Year 4), won both the Discus and the 600m, whilst Henry (Year 4) won the Shot and came 2nd in the 75m. Maia (Year 4) also came 2nd in the Shot.
The girls` relay team finished 3rd in the Relay Final. From Year 5, both Benji and Evie continued their success in the Javelin, claiming 1st place, with Evie setting a new record of 20.85m.
What fantastic results and thank you to Mr Weaver, Mr Bardouleau and Mrs Footman who accompanied and encouraged our athletes.

After such an exciting final @rolandgarros yesterday, we wanted to share some excellent tennis news from DH.
Jackson in Year 7 won the recent Play your Way to Wimbledon tournament at Storrington.
This was the first step with a follow up regional event at West Worthing on 28th June and then on to Wimbledon...
What a brilliant achievement, Jackson - we look forward to an update later this month.

Our next Open Morning will be in September 2025...
