WELCOME TO Dorset House School
"...this is a school that really does empower"
(Tatler Schools Guide)

Welcome
At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.
Prospective parents often comment on the warmth of this school and if that is something which is important to your family, please call to make an appointment to visit us. We look forward to meeting you.

Following on from last week`s netball news, we were delighted to hear that Olivia in Year 8 played for Sussex for the first time last weekend in the Performance Pathway Tournament @cranleighschool. Her team came 3rd out of 8 County Teams and she was awarded Coaches Player for her performance. Congratulations, Olivia - what a brilliant achievement!

Congratulations to this hardy bunch of parents and staff who completed a 10K run from the top of the South Downs to school this morning. Children and staff welcomed them back as they ran down the drive and sponsorship for @youngmindsuk is still growing.
Of course, the DH pupils are running today as well with everyone in Years 3 - 8 completing a mile during their games lessons.
What a great way to round off a week of activities around @_place2be Children`s Mental Health Week.
Thanks to everyone for your support.

Yesterday we were please to welcome 7 local primary schools (from Amberley, Ashington,St James, Coldwaltham, Petworth, Slindon, St Philip’s Arundel and West Chiltington), to take part in the annual Arun Valley Netball Tournament. The sun shone and everyone had a fun afternoon filled with lots of netball. A massive thank you to @starsnetball for coming along and leading drills when the children weren’t playing. It came down to the last match and was decided on goal difference with just one goal in it! Well done to West Chiltington who came first, DH Blue in second and Slindon in 3rd.
Thank you to all our games staff for brilliant organisation, to the catering team for match teas/drinks throughout the afternoon and to all the staff and parents from visiting schools.
We hope to see you soon!

Our next Open Morning will be on Friday 14th March 2025
...but visitors are always welcome. Please call the school to arrange an appointment (01798 831456)
