WELCOME TO Dorset House School
"...this is a school that really does empower"
(Tatler Schools Guide)

Welcome
At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.
Prospective parents often comment on the warmth of this school and if that is something which is important to your family, please call to make an appointment to visit us. We look forward to meeting you.

15 of our Year 5 & 6 pupils travelled to @hurst_college this morning for the Hurst Book Awards event and what a fabulous time the children all had.
They bought books from @helenrutteruk and had them signed. (Here is Lily with her copy).
The children have been inspired to read some books that they might otherwise not have considered and we will definitely be asking to take part again next year.

Thank you to @lancingprep.hove @windleshamhouse @pennthorpeschool @greatballard @the_prebendal_school and St James` School, Coldwaltham for joining us for the annual U9 Athletics Meeting.

Well done everyone - it was a great afternoon of athletics!

Charlie (Year 5) was representing Sussex at the County Cup in tennis last weekend.
Sussex were playing Bucks, Berks and Oxfordshire.
He won 3 out of his 4 matches and Sussex just missed out on going through with a tight game after one of the other doubles pairs lost the final match.
Charlie`s ranking should be going up to at least 3rd in Sussex and he did a great job representing the county.
This is brilliant news Charlie - congratulations!

Our next Open Morning will be in September 2025...
