WELCOME TO Dorset House School
"...this is a school that really does empower"
(Tatler Schools Guide)

Welcome
At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.
Prospective parents often comment on the warmth of this school and if that is something which is important to your family, please call to make an appointment to visit us. We look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Wake (nee Hobrow) - our Head of Pre-Prep - brought baby Henry, brother for 2 year old Charlie, into school to introduce to the children.

Our Year 8 pupils have had such a busy time following their exams.
They have had talks from local homeless charity, @turningtidesorg Tides; the Police; @amnestyuk International UK` and Animal Aid. Tomorrow, they are off to London for the day and earlier today, a group of them went to the rewilding project @kneppwilding Wilding. Here they are looking out for storks from one of the tree houses.

Another Friday, another Sports Day!
this week, it was the turn of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
With the field events complete, they were ready for the track events while parents enjoyed elderflower and freshly baked cakes.
They had a brilliant time and put their all into hurdles, sprints and relay and of course, the old favourites - egg and spoon, obstacle and beanbag on the head. There was a suitably competitive parents` race at the end and then ice creams all round from the ice cream van.
Thanks to Miss Fentiman and our amazing sports staff and to our Year 7 and 8 pupils who helped the afternoon to run so smoothly.

Our next Open Morning will be in September 2025...
...but visitors are always welcome. Please call the school to arrange an appointment (01798 831456)
