Design and Technology at Dorset House is an inspiring and intellectually challenging subject that nurtures creativity, innovation, and curiosity. Pupils are guided through a structured and iterative design process, from initial research and concept development to prototyping and evaluation, developing the confidence to think independently and the resilience to refine and improve their ideas.
The curriculum offers a rich blend of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology. Pupils engage with disciplines such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing, coding, graphic design, and product sketching, alongside practical work with materials including wood and plastics. This balanced approach ensures that pupils develop both precision in making and sophistication in digital design.
