Rugby Success
The boys have made one of the best starts to the rugby season ever. Out of a total of 17 matches played only 3 games have resulted in defeat. The 1st team managed to beat Westbourne twice, both home and away and are just getting into their stride. There has been some great tackling and
forward play from Tom Saunders and Hugo Ormerod, whilst Charlie Manger and Benji Jackson have provided the skills in the backs.
The U11s have not looked back since losing to Seaford in their opening game and have convincingly beaten Cranleigh, Duke of Kent, Belmont and Westbourne, down to a great team spirit and some outstanding performances from Ben Saunders. Meanwhile, the U10s and U9s have not lost any of their games so far and are playing some very exciting rugby. The U10s defeated both Duke of Kent and Belmont and drew with Seaford and Westbourne. There were strong performances from Hamish Skinner, Seb Anscombe, Fin Blunden-Hare and Isaac Blowey.
The U9s are already showing their potential and for the first time in a long while, we have been able to put out an A and a B team. In their first game at Handcross, the A team won with everyone playing well but with some particularly strong running from Jake French and fine tackling from Archie Gray
What a fantastic start to the season; I hope they can pick up where they left off after Christmas.
