Bonfire Fun!

Dorset House School has a long tradition of celebrating Bonfire Night and this usually involves lots of games in the barn – run by our Parents’ Association.  This year was a little different as we needed to have all the games outside and apple bobbing was certainly off limits!

Instead of the usual arrangements, our Year 8 pupils organised games for the younger children on the Astro and it was a huge success.

Guys were submitted for the Guy competition – including a spectacular Mary Poppins – complete with umbrella and carpet bag.

Sausages from Coughtrey’s butchers in Pulborough went into our hot dogs and staff served hot chocolate to the children and mulled wine to their parents.

Pupils enjoyed playing in the woods which were floodlit for the occasion or running on the pitches with glow sticks.

A spectacular fireworks display followed and everyone said it was the best bonfire night they could remember!
