Year 7 Favela Project

Year 7 learnt that a Favela, in Brazil, is a slum or shanty town located within or on the outskirts of the country’s large cities, especially Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

They talked about how and what they were built from and what life might be like living there. They recycled left over card from a Year 6 project to make this class piece. They did not create an initial plan but instead created their work from the materials available – much like how the favela’s were built.
